da pinnacle： Spain midfielder Mikel Merino has revealed that he is enjoying life at Newcastle United after joining the Magpies on loan during the summer.
da poker： The Spain Under-21 international swapped Borussia Dortmund for Newcastle in the recent transfer window, and will spend the 2017-18 campaign on loan in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has impressed in three league appearances for Newcastle this season, with his performances drawing a host of praise from the club’s supporters.
Merino also believes that the Premier League ‘is the strongest league in the world’, and the midfielder is looking forward to growing as a player during his time in the north of England.
Merino told Sky Sports:
“Little by little I am understanding everything, how English people play football, I am happy here and I think this is going to be a good year.
“The Premier League is a really strong league, very physical, all the players are ready to fight for every ball and maybe it is the strongest league in the world.
“It has a huge base and strength and I have to learn about it, when I can play, when I cannot. This is just about minutes and game time and I think I will improve.”
Merino started his professional career with La Liga outfit Osasuna, before joining Dortmund on a long-term contract last summer.
The Spaniard struggled for minutes at his German club last season, however, appearing just seven times in the Bundesliga during the 2017-18 campaign.
Newcastle will continue their 2017-18 Premier League campaign against Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.
