West Brom’s chances of clinching promotion back to the promised land got a whole lot stronger as they were in rampant form at the weekend, spearheaded by captain Jake Livermore in the Slaven Bilic’s engine room.
But one announcement has left Baggies fans fuming after the 30-year-old was omitted from the EFL’s Team of the Weekend despite his impressive display.
Even Albion’s official Twitter account has got in on the action by posting the following video in response…
Hal Robson-Kanu who bagged two goals in their 3-0 victory at Bristol City was included, although that clearly wasn’t enough for some of the Hawthorns faithful.
Here’s what they have been saying…
One supporter simply said he was “fuming” with the decision to exclude the combative midfielder from such a deserved accolade whilst plenty of others believed their skipper had been “robbed.”

Many are clearly fuming at the announcement, so much so that it has caused some fans to suggest there’s more to the story here.
The EFL had a hidden agenda according to one supporter, who also claimed they were doing the “dirty” on West Brom as usual whilst another suggested it was because it wasn’t a Leeds player – even though they couldn’t get a player in the Team of the Week this time around.
But the Albion faithful has a point as Livermore was simply outstanding in the heart of the pitch, and even had to work harder following Romaine Sawyers’ red card.

Per SofaScore, the veteran recorded two key passes, 11 tackles and had four shots at goal – talk about having an effect at either end of the pitch.
It’s very hard to argue against the fact that Livermore should have been included, but he can enact some revenge this evening by putting in another encompassing performance with Preston North End in town.
And in other news, West Brom’s predicted XI against Preston…
