Sako is also a full international for Mali and could be a fantastic signing for any Championship club on a free now that the transfer window has closed.
Karanka has already made 16 new signings this summer and the Reds have failed to hit the ground running this season, with the club now sitting 14th in the Championship after six games. Despite his large squad, the Spaniard would do well to bring in Sako and it is clear that Forest fans would back any potential deal.
