Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino is reportedly a transfer target for Riyadh-based club Al-Nassr and they will offer him a “lucrative” contract to get a deal done.
The Lowdown: Firmino’s situation at Liverpool
As things stand, the 31-year-old is set to see his current contract at the Merseyside club expire at the end of the season.
Having made 21 appearances for the Reds across all competitions this season, Firmino has scored nine goals and delivered four assists along the way, leaving him with more league goal contributions than any other Liverpool player.
Unsurprisingly with his prominence in the team over recent months, there are rumours of a big new contract, but that hasn’t stopped the attacker being linked with a move away from the club.
The Latest: Firmino wanted
According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Firmino has emerged as a transfer target for Al-Nassr.
The Saudi outfit were recently linked with a €200m-a-season offer to Cristiano Ronaldo and are owned by Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al-Maktoum.

The report adds that while Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are keen to see the Brazilian sign a new deal at Anfield, the Middle Eastern club hope that a lucrative offer will sway Firmino’s thinking.
The Verdict: Hands off
Across his 13 league appearances, Firmino has racked up the joint-highest number of shots on target at Liverpool (20) as well as having the highest rate of goals per shot (0.21).
This shows just how important he has been for the Reds in front of goal this season and backs up why journalist Steven Crawford described Firmino’s form this season as “sensational” on Twitter.
In addition to that, the Brazilian’s overall performances have earned him a solid season rating of 7.2/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest rated player in Klopp’s squad.
Taking all of this into account, it’s easy to see why Klopp and the club are eager to see Firmino sign a new deal and continue his journey with the Reds.
In terms of Al-Nassr’s interest, this could and should act as an incentive for Liverpool to up their efforts of getting the attacker to put pen to paper on a new contract as soon as possible.
