da dobrowin: As Gareth Southgate prepares his England squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia, it would be borderline ludicrous to suggest that Harry Winks will make the cut.
da betobet: It is perhaps easy to forget that as recently as October last year, the Tottenham starlet was man of the match on debut against Lithuania.
Winks – valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt – added composure and technical ability to a midfield that had been largely flat throughout qualification and was being talked about as a real contender for the squad; potentially even as a starter.

Unfortunately for him, injuries have derailed his season yet again and Winks has found it difficult to force his way back into the fold at Spurs at such a crunch stage of the season.
Winks has lost his way slightly and one way to rectify that could be a loan move, and although allowing a player to leave the club is sometimes a sign that Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t rate a player, that need not be the case for Winks.
Everton are one club who lack deep-lying creative midfielders – Gylfi Sigurdsson is their only reliable source of invention – and potentially a loan move to Goodison Park could be mutually beneficial.
