da premier bet: After just a few matches since the close of the January transfer window, it is looking as though Manchester United have done some fantastic business.
da betobet: Their star signing was Bruno Fernandes, who completed a £47m move from Sporting Lisbon. In just nine matches, he has three goals and four assists, and the Red Devils have not lost since his arrival. Odion Ighalo, meanwhile, who joined on loan from Shanghai Shenhua, has managed four goals in eight matches since his switch was confirmed.

The summer, though, will likely bring around a bigger overhaul. Whilst Fernandes and Ighalo have made big contributions, there is still plenty to sort out at Old Trafford.
Amongst the rumoured targets are James Maddison and Jack Grealish. The two have been amongst the top English performers this term and are both on the up. According to the Manchester Evening News, the former wants to make the move to the 20-time English champions, whilst Ed Woodward and co are said to be prepared to pay £70m for one of their top targets in the latter.
The two are similar players – they are both attacking midfielders, for example – but it is the Aston Villa man who has the slight edge. He has scored one more goal than his Leicester City counterpart with seven, whilst he has managed twice as many assists with six.
Overall, Grealish looks to be the slightly more polished. They have both managed the same amount of key passes, with 2.7, but Maddison has lost possession of the ball 17.7 times per match compared to 15.3. He has also won just 55% of all of his duels, whilst Villa’s talisman has prevailed in 62%.
The former Coventry City man does have the edge in terms of defensive contribution, with 1.9 tackles per match compared to one, but that is unlikely to be the deciding factor for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In fact, some are saying that Grealish should not limit himself to United. Stan Collymore has suggested he could make the grade at European champions Liverpool (The Daily Mirror, January 21st, page 47), whilst Gabriel Agbonlahor said he would “walk into any team in the world”.
If United were able to take Grealish to Manchester, therefore, they will have struck gold. He has a huge future ahead of him, it would appear, and Solskjaer and co could be the ones to benefit from that.
However, even if they were unable to sign Grealish, Maddison would be an excellent choice.
He has shown this term that he has the quality to succeed at the very top of the Premier League table – he has been one of the Foxes’ best players as they currently lie in third position in the table.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the duo.
