Petrovic was allowed to depart Stamford Bridge at the start of the campaign on loan after the Blues brought in Filip Jorgensen on a permanent deal from Villarreal. The young Serbian goalkeeper has shone during his time in France and his performances have been rewarded in this award. After a season in which Chelsea's goalkeeping issues plagued them once again, Enzo Maresca may wish he held on to Petrovic.

Chelsea persisted with Robert Sanchez and Jorgensen as their two goalkeeping options this season, but might have been better keeping their other players. Petrovic has been exceptional in France and Kepa Arrizabalaga has played well for high-flying Bournemouth. But, the Blues could yet add more shot-stoppers to their ranks by dipping into the transfer market. The club are reportedly looking to sign a new number one in the summer.
DID YOU KNOW?
Petrovic may never play for Chelsea again anyway with Leeds chasing his signature. The newly promoted side are looking for a new figure in between the sticks to replace the error-prone Illan Meslier and have identified Petrovic as an option. Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher is another option.
AFPWHAT NEXT FOR PETROVIC AND STRASBOURG?
Petrovic will return to the Blues at the end of the season, but could be on the move again. As for Strasbourg, they will have to rely on a Paris Saint-Germain victory in the Coupe de France if they are to secure a place in European football next season. Their late 3-2 defeat to Le Havre cost them sixth place and a place in the Conference League to Lyon on goal difference.
