A number of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have criticised Andre Green’s performance in the Owls’ 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers.
Darren Moore’s side drew their opening League One game of the season last weekend, with Charlton Athletic holding them to a 0-0 draw at The Valley.
An expectant Hillsborough crowd awaited on Saturday, however, as Wednesday hosted Darren Moore’s former club Doncaster in their first home game of the campaign.
The Owls got the job in professional fashion, winning 2-0 thanks to second-half strikes from Barry Bannan and Dennis Adeniran in what was a promising afternoon in Sheffield.
A number of players shone for the hosts, with Bannan again influential and scoring a wonderful goal, but Green did not have an afternoon to savour. He completed only eight passes in 70 minutes on the field – the same figure as George Byers, who came on in his place, along with losing ten of his 13 duels (Sofascore).
Sheff Wed fans lay into Green
The winger seems to be a whipping boy among the fanbase currently, having also been slammed by some supporters for his performance at Charlton last week, and these Wednesday supporters took to Twitter to criticise his “very frustrating” display on Saturday.
