da bet esporte: Arsenal enter this weekend’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on the back of a shock defeat to Watford which saw the Gunners miss the chance to claw themselves back into the title race.
da dobrowin: Chelsea’s draw with Liverpool at Anfield would have meant that Arsenal would have been just six points behind Antonio Conte’s side heading into this weekend, with the chance to move just three points behind with a victory at Stamford Bridge.
As it stands, best-case scenario for the North London outfit would see them pull six points behind Chelsea but BBC’s Mark Lawrenson is expecting the opposite, as he predicted a victory for Chelsea that would see them extend their lead to a whopping 12 points.
“Antonio Conte’s side will be thinking they have something to prove against Arsenal after losing heavily at the Emirates Stadium in September.”
“This is a very different Chelsea side now, not just in formation since their switch to three at the back later that month, but also in mentality – the title is in their sights now.”
Arsenal’s recent struggles in their clashes with the West London side will not help their chances and even the most optimistic of Gooners will find it difficult to predict a positive outcome for the club this weekend.
