da dobrowin: Marco Silva wants to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window to continue Everton’s rapid progression.
da brdice: The Portuguese has transformed the Everton squad into a coherent attacking unit and has brought positive football back to Goodison Park. Silva has definitely lifted the mood on Merseyside following a dreadful season under Sam Allardyce. The ex-Watford boss had a successful summer transfer window, but reports suggest he wants to bolster his attacking options further.
Reportedly high on his list of targets is Benfica youngster – Andrija Zivkovic. The 22-year-old has been a target for Premier League clubs for a number of years with Everton now expected to firm up their interest in January. However, the youngster is yet to score or assist in the Portuguese league so far this season.
Instead, Everton should consider making a move for Frankfurt star – Ante Rebic. Valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, Rebic spent last season on loan at the Bundesliga side who made the move permanent in the summer after a superb campaign and World Cup tournament with Croatia. His excellent form has continued into the new season, scoring four goals and registering two assists in just seven appearances.
Rebic is a versatile forward who can play on either wing, as a number ten or as the central striker making him a useful option for Silva to have at his disposal. The Croatian has a fantastic work-rate which would instantly make him a fan favourite at Goodison Park. Despite not being the quickest player, Rebic’s fantastic dribbling skill makes him a nightmare for defenders; the 25-year-old has averaged an incredible 2.3 successful dribbles per game in the Bundesliga this season (WhoScored).
In a squad of Everton’s quality – Rebic would take his game to the next level.
Everton fans, thoughts?
