da cassino online: Tottenham Hotspur fell to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday as they continue to be in real danger of losing their top-four spot, and predictably Kieran Trippier was one of the Spurs players bearing the brunt of the criticism.
The right-back, who played as a wing-back against the Reds, has endured something of a torrid season following the highs of the 2018 World Cup with England, and he has been called out for his performances by fans of the north London outfit on Twitter on many occasions throughout the campaign.
This weekend was no different with the crosses for both of Jurgen Klopp’s side’s goals coming from his flank, and it did appear as though he could have done more to close Andy Robertson down for the opener – the Tottenham faithful on the social media platform certainly weren’t pleased with his display, as you can see below.
That said he didn’t have a lot of protection throughout the 90 minutes against Robertson and Sadio Mane, with Moussa Sissoko playing in a more defensively-minded central midfield role alongside Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, with Lucas Moura partnering Harry Kane up top.
Trippier’s overall performance on the day, as per stats-based website WhoScored, wasn’t bad at all though, with only Moura performing better according to their ratings system.
They aren’t far wrong either. While he may have not had the greatest accuracy in terms of passing, the fact he had more touches than any other Spurs player on the pitch shows how important he is to the team even when he isn’t performing at his best, while he also made an impressive number of tackles and clearances.
Mauricio Pochettino is tending to keep the faith with the 28-year-old in the big games – as he did on Merseyside – and there is a reason for that. Now Tottenham supporters need to get behind the player instead of continually chastising him, as the criticism and the vitriol both at matches and online isn’t going to help him get back to the form he has shown for the club previously.
