da betsul: It has been a quiet January transfer window for Everton to date, with youngster Jarrad Branthwaite the only arrival to date, and he has linked up with the U23s rather than Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team squad. The appointment of the experienced Italian as Marco Silva’s successor last month may have raised hope that it could be a busy month for the Merseyside outfit, but it hasn’t turned out like that. There have been links to players such as Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez and Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, as per Sky Sports’ transfer centre (January 23, 9:08pm) but nothing has progressed going into the final week of the window. Some potentially deals have been rumoured more than others though, so here FFC takes a look at what Everton’s XI could look like after the deadline on Friday.Despite some dodgy moments this month including when he was stood behind his line for Newcastle United’s dramatic equaliser at Goodison Park last week, Everton haven’t been linked with new goalkeeper this month and Jordan Pickford remains between the sticks.Ahead of him in defence, the only potential change could be at the heart of the backline with Ancelotti only having Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate as his senior options, but there have been no heavy links and unless something changes it doesn’t appear as though there will be a new arrival in this position.Lucas Digne and Djibril Sidibe continue at full-back, too, with Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman providing strong back-up options. The changes do come in midfield though, with Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino one of two players – the other being Gremio’s Everton Soares – that the club are reportedly in talks about signing, as per Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter.
Vecino partners the more defensively-minded Morgan Schneiderlin in the middle with Fabian Delph dropping out, as Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin continue their injury rehabilitation.
On the wing, Soares comes in on the left-hand side while Bernard switches to the right in place of Theo Walcott, who has only had two goal contributions in 21 appearances in all competitions this season.
Up top, Richarlison continues to partner the Merseyside outfit’s top goalscorer this term with 12, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are reportedly tracking a £49.5m-rated Ligue star, with Marcel Brands a known admirer…
